February 2004 - ProSearch President Elected to Board of Directors Black Data Processing AssociationProSearch announces that its President and Founder, Suzanne F. Fairlie, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Black Data Processing Association (BDPA).Fairlie is an expert in retained search of information technology (IT) and related professionals. She has authored numerous career-oriented articles and speaks nationally on hiring and recruiting practices. BDPA, a national non-profit organization, was founded in Philadelphia in 1975 and has chapters in major cities throughout the United States. A key goal of the organization is to address the technology issues of the African American community where citizens still feel excluded from the technology-based economy. The organization believes that bridging the digital divide begins in the home where parents should be encouraged to buy a computer, connect to the World Wide Web and provide adequate training to family members to insure use of their computer. "I am honored and delighted to be chosen to serve on the BDPA Board of Directors," says Fairlie. "I can think of no better way to use my expertise and engage my passion for placing the right people in the right jobs. Assisting members of the African-American community to further their job opportunities in information technology is a way I can give back to the community." Fairlie is past chair of the Mid-Atlantic Personnel Association's Committee on Ethics and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Pinnacle Society which is the nation's premier consortium of Top Recruiters within the permanent placement and search industry. Since 1989, the Pinnacle Society has provided the nation's top recruiters a forum in which to exchange the business principles and placement techniques that lead them to achieve, and allowed them to maintain their success. In addition, she serves on the Executive Advisory Board of the CIO Forum and Junior Achievement of the Delaware Valley. She is a member of the Society of Information Management (SIM), the Forum of Executive Women and The Union League of Philadelphia. ProSearch, which Fairlie founded in 1988, is WBE and WDBE certified. The firm specializes in retained search of information technology and related professionals. Primary markets include corporate and non-profit organizations in the hospital/health care, pharmaceutical, financial services, manufacturing, transportation and eBusiness industries.
