Position TitleDirector, Information Architects Job DescriptionOur client, an established and growing Fortune 500 services organization in the Mid Atlantic area, has retained us to hire Director of Information Architects. This person will head up an Enterprise Information Architecture group, and report to the Enterprise Chief Architect. Our successful candidate will have proven experience in leading and implementing an enterprise Information Management strategy, including methodology, strategy, tool and vendor selection, data provisioning and governance. Indepth partnering with the business side and with multiple technology groups is critical to the success of this role. Understanding how to \"sell\" these concepts, and how to work closely with the architecture groups, is a mandatory skill set. Familiarity with the concepts of data integration to reduce redundancy, is key. Previous people and project and budget management is also critical to this role. This person will build a small team of information architects, and work in a heavily matrixed environment where metrics and mutual cooperation are the norms, along with much change, and changing priorities as the business needs change. Interest in managing status quo is NOT valued. The ability to create a new strategy and blueprint, across a fortune 500, must be seen in past experience. understanding how to create a master data management strategy is key, as well as enjoying working with both transactional and warehouse architectures. Operating in a self managed role, where individual contributions are rewarded, makes this role very exciting, as does the ability to work in an environment that truly makes an impact to the success of others.
