Job Description
Well established Fortune 500 in the NC area has developed a need for a Director of Business Intelligence to create the foundation environment for the company’s Business Intelligence. Role will deal heavily with data terminology specific to the financial services industry. Must have a strong understanding of the data to be used as you will validate and complement the existing tools, and will make changes for the gaps.. Will have budgetary responsibility. Role involves refining data marts that are in place and creating operational data stores. Will provide and create standards for subsequent data marts and for special purpose data marts. Must know Oracle data structures and be familiar with some of the following: Erwin for data mapping and data design, Actuate, business objects, Crystal, Oracle database, some SQL Server, Microsoft, and Rochade as the metadata modeler.
Key tasks will be to
1.Develop and prioritize Business Intelligence architecture, goals and vision to satisfy multiple end user needs in a large scale environment.
2.Promote the exploitation of the BI evolution in the company.
3.Develop and manage team of about 3 analysts, to be hired.
4.Develop relationships with data owners, who are replication strategy and infrastructure capabilities
5.Develop relationships with senior executives in stewardship and creation of enterprise function work closely with director level staff in the product side of the business
6.Develop expertise and reputation as BI Guru, BI Center of Excellence, within the company
7.Validate and complement existing BI and DW tools, make changes where gaps exist, identify additional toolsets to bring in, and own these tool sets.
8.Work with implementation teams, matrix management style, to implement and utilize these tools.
Requirements
Must have four year degree and at least 15 years experience in application development, project and program management and database or data repository management. Must have the ability to conduct negotiations with vendors and service providers, as well as users.. Company offers excellent benefits and a stable work environment, and excellent work/life balance.
